The Massachusetts Motorcycle Political Action Committee (MMPAC) is pleased to announce its endorsement for Christine E. Canavan, State Representative, 10th Plymouth District.
Representative Canavan was instrumental helping the Massachusetts Motorcycle Association (MMA) enact Senate Number 2344, filed by the MMA, in the most recent legislative session. Dubbed "Ryan's Bill" in memory of Ryan Orcutt, a Brockton teenager who tragically died in a motorcycle crash, Canavan took the lead early in the process in 2009 after being approached by Ryan's classmates regarding this pending legislation. A registered nurse, Canavan recognized that young motorcycle riders needs training to help develop the skills and abilities necessary to operate a motorcycle on the streets of the Commonwealth.
MMA Legislative Director Rick Gleason points out, "Notwithstanding this recent accomplishment with Ryan's Bill, Representative Christine Canavan has been on the side of Massachusetts motorcyclists for many years. A public co-Sponsor of the MMA's Legislative Agenda, Representative Canavan is a card-carrying member of the MMA and enjoys riding with her husband whenever the demands of family and career allow."
When notified of MMPAC's endorsement of her campaign, Christine said, "Thank you to MMPAC for the support and the confidence this endorsement implies. As a fellow member of the MMA, I will be, as always, the face of a responsible rider for my colleagues. Be safe and keep shining."
"Electing a Motorcycle-Friendly State Representative in this district who will pay attention to motorcyclists' issues, should be a goal of riders all across Massachusetts", Gleason states.
MMPAC encourages all motorcycle riders to meet Christine E. Canavan at one of her state-wide events near you. Christine's events listing can be found on her official web site at: www.ChristineCanavan.com
